NATIONAL FORECLOSURE MITIGATION COUNSELING PROGRAM
On July 30, 2008, President Bush signed The Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 which appropriated funds to NeighborWorks America to continue the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling Program.
NeighborWorks America awarded those funds as grants through the National Foreclosure Mitigation Counseling program to state housing finance agencies, HUD-approved housing counseling intermediaries and community based NeighborWorks organizations, to provide free counseling to families and individuals facing the threat of foreclosure throughout the United States.
Louisiana Housing Finance Agency received Round 2 NFMC funds and is working with HUD-approved counseling agencies throughout the State of Louisiana to provide foreclosure mitigation counseling to our citizens.
